Common Vulnerability Scoring System is a free and open industry standard for assessing the severity of security vulnerabilities. CVSS attempts to assign scores to vulnerabilities, allowing responders to prioritize responses and resources according to severity. The Common Vulnerability Scoring System is based off of the base metrics, temporal metrics, and environmental metrics.
