Anonymous Hackers
Anonymous hackers are a loosely organized Internet group of political activists who engage in hacktivism. Anonymous hackers began as a collective on the imageboard 4chan, an anonymous Internet chat room. Anonymous hackers are known as “Anons” and often wear Guy Fawkes masks to disguise their identity in public. Initially, anonymous hackers adopted the approach of a decentralized online community acting anonymously in a coordinated manner, usually toward a loosely self-agreed goal and primarily focused on entertainment. However, in 2008, anonymous hackers evolved into mainly a political activist group, increasingly engaging in collaborative hacktivism. Anonymous hackers have a reputation for aggressively pursuing their cyber targets and successfully crashing web servers, defacing websites, and leaking private information.
